Fred T. Arnold, Ph.D., CEO
Fred Arnold is Chief Executive Officer of Precipia Systems, Inc. and maintains an interest in Chart Venture Partners, a venture capital group focused on dual-use opportunities for commercial and security/defense markets. In 2007, he served as Chairman/CEO for one of his portfolio companies, Maxion Technologies. He was a founding partner in EOTech LLC, a holographic sight and technology company sold to L3 communications in late-2005. He was previously Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of a small-cap, public Canadian corporation that supplied advanced environmental technology and services for the destruction of chemical weapons and other hazardous materials.
Earlier in his career, he was President/CEO of Jane's Information Group, Inc., the world's largest provider of defense and aerospace information, and Group Vice President of DRI/McGraw-Hill Financial Services Company, where he directed their government business sectors and developed their defense economics capabilities and markets. He served as Executive Vice President, Defense/Energy Practices, for ICF Kaiser, a large U.S. engineering firm specializing in engineered solutions, environmental management, and DOD/DOE site remediation. In the public sector he worked as Chief Regulatory Analyst, Office of the Pesticide Program U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he twice served as a federal hearing examiner in seminal cases.
He earned his B.S. with highest honors from Colorado State University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Maryland (Agricultural Economics/Operations Research).
Devin McPherson, VP of Operations
Devin McPherson oversees the day-to-day operations of Precipia's Software Development, Quality Assurance and Solutions Engineering groups. He is also the product manager for Precipia's IVI software. Mr. McPherson joined Precipia systems in 2005. Before being named Sr. VP of Operations, he was the Director of Solutions Engineering.
Devin McPherson has over 10 years of software industry experience, working with both public and private sector customers. Prior to joining Precipia, Mr. McPherson was employed by ITT Industries, Advanced Engineering and Sciences (AES) division, where he delivered customized software solutions to several DoD and Intelligence organizations. These experiences in the public sector are supplemented by Mr. McPherson's work in the private sector. Mr. McPherson contributed to the growth and market adoption of Strategy.com (a Subsidiary of MicroStrategy Inc.), a personalized digital information portal with more than a million users. Specifically, Mr. McPherson expanded the market adoption channels of Strategy.com by working with financial industry customers including The Wall Street Journal and Ameritrade.
Before entering into the software industry, Mr. McPherson spent time in both the Chemical and Automotive industries. Mr. McPherson holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
